This lesson offers you the opportunity to practice your Lip-Blocked Single Notes on the song “Ode To Joy” as well as in a jamming situation.
The particular verse I chose to share with you is from the 4th movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th symphony. This song will give you a wonderful opportunity to use the Coughing Technique when the same note is repeated two or more time.
The notes that I use the Coughing Technique on are indicated in RED. In a song this, I like to “cough” very gently so that my playing fits the mood of the song.
Please be aware that the Coughing Technique can be used in any song whenever you play the same note two or times in a row. I sometimes do not use it on the first note of a series. For example notice how the three examples below don't use the coughing technique on the first hole of the series:

I encourage you to continue practicing the “Chugging Train-Time Rhythm Patterns” on a daily basis if possible.
